Fáilte ar ais ar scoil.
We hope everyone had a lovely summer and are well rested in preparation for the year ahead.
We are delighted to welcome everyone back to school and extend a special welcome to our new Junior Infants and to new pupils who are joining us from other schools.
We are now into our second year as a mixed school and thankfully all is going well. This year we hope to introduce basketball and of course the football training will also continue.
We also hope to introduce the children to Mindfulness and will have a person trained in the area coming in to work with the children and the staff.
Ms. Sayers will be offering Irish dancing classes after school once a week. More details to follow.
School Self Evaluation
This year our focus will be on the development of Oral Language throughout the school. As you are all aware technology plays a major part in life today and people/children seem to spend less time engaging in actual conversation.
We hope to focus on developing the children’s’ vocabulary and comprehension skills and will continue to use the Building Bridges comprehension programme that is currently in use in the school.
Mathematics
In the area of Maths we will continue focussing on problem solving and tables.
Please encourage your child to learn their tables as they are key to success in Maths.
A few gentle reminders
